With VSDC Free Video Editor you can do much more than just editing your favorite video clips – it allows you to create new videos, produce pro-looking slideshows, author and burn your favorite videos to DVD, convert videos among well-known formats, capture any activity taking place on your screen, and a plethora of other video-related activities.

When creating a new project, you can combine any number of media files – in any of the many video, audio, and image file formats supported – in the program’s timeline. Here you can rearrange the different layers in whatever way fits your preferences, in a linear or non-linear way, mixing audio and video files, interspersing images here and there, adding subtitles, etc. Each video file can be edited separately, performing color and lighting corrections, clipping and cropping them, or applying any of the many one-click video effects and filters (called “styles” in this free tool). Audio files can also be edited to fit your video layers and your preferences, and the entire project can then be burnt to disc using the program’s DVD authoring tool. Alternatively, you can use the program’s slideshow creation tool to produce professional movies out of any selection of images, complete with transitions and your preferred soundtrack.

Together with the program’s editing and creation capabilities, VSDC Free Video Editor is known for its video recording features. This will let you record any video stream coming via your webcam or any activity taking place on your screen. Both tools are highly flexible and the Screen Capture utility will let you draw, add objects, and even handwrite your messages while recording, making this is a perfect tool for tutorials, gameplays, demos, etc.

It is not very often that you find a 100% free utility with such a wide array of functions, features, and options. The amount of options that this program offers is even hard to find in many commercial tools, and the level of quality that if offers exceeds anyone’s expectations.

VSDC Free Video Editor is an excellent program to have installed on your system – it will prevent you from having to download and install at least three or four different apps in order to cover its main functionality.
